This section details tasks, processes or workspaces specific to SoftNAS Cloud® instances running on VMware vSphere.

Configuring high availability in SoftNAS Cloud® on VMware is a simple process. It involves two nodes with defined IP addresses, and a third virtual machine to act as a HA controller, monitoring the heartbeat between the two instances.  We will cover this and more in the sections to follow.

VMware supports both Dual Controller High Availability™ (DCHA), and SNAP HA™. For more information on these options, see the following:
