Once Lift and Shift is selected, select Create New from the Lift and Shift pane.

Step 2 - Select a Platform

Next, you will select the platform from which you will be "lifting" the data you wish to shift. In this example, we will select AWS. Select the platform, and you will automatically be taken to the next step.

Step 3 - Enter Credentials

Depending on the Cloud type selected, you will be prompted to enter specific credentials:

Note: In older versions of SoftNAS Cloud, an additional step might be required: selecting the platform. If this appears, you would select the platform you are running: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or VMware. 


Step 2 - Enter Node information

Enter the IP address, username and password for the target node.

Microsoft Azure instances will require the Azure username and password as well as IP address, username and password for the Target.

VMware, as it is an on-premise solution, does not require external authentication. It only requires the Target IP, username and password.

Once the appropriate information is entered, you need to select Verify login to assure credentials entered for the target node are correct.  If login is successful, the Next  button in the lower right will become active. Select Next and Lift and Shift will begin setting up the communication between the Source and Target.
